Sometimes you may need to turn off your mic and/or camera without leaving a call – here’s how.

Just like a meeting in person, you may need to temporarily leave for whatever reason. Thankfully with video conferencing, you can mute your microphone or turn off your camera instead of leaving a call entirely.

How do you go about muting and/or hiding yourself? Here’s a quick guide to help you out.

1. At the bottom of the screen, there will be two big blue buttons – one with a microphone symbol and one with a camera symbol.
2. To mute yourself, press the button with the microphone. To hide/turn off the camera, press the button with the camera. The button will be highlighted red when off.
3. When you’re ready to return, press the relevant button – it will turn from red to blue.
